How do Vape Coils work?
All vape kits and electronic cigarettes have a coil. They include the coil wire and the wicking material, which is often cotton and absorbs your e-liquid. When the battery is turned on, this wire heats up, turning the liquid in the wicking substance into vapor. The coil is the component of an e-cigarette that converts e-liquid to steam.
The components in a coil may accumulate dirt and clogs over time. The wicking material can also catch fire if your vaporizer is activated before it is soaked with liquid. It’s time to replace it with a fresh coil at this point.
You can see several holes in your coil’s metal housing if you look at it closely. You should be able to see the cotton through the holes, which are there to let the liquid enter the coil. Does it appear a little dirty and brown? It’s possible that your ring needs to be replaced since it has burned out.
What Is the Lifespan of a Vape Coil?
A coil can last for an indefinite amount of time before needing to be replaced. They can last longer or shorter depending on the vape liquid you choose and how much or how often you smoke. Additionally, due to the quality of their construction, certain coils endure longer than others.
Depending on the device, this may vary slightly. However, many kits and tanks now come with push-fit coils that can be replaced from the bottom of the tank or pod. These are frequently preferred since you avoid handling the filthy, wet portion of the coil. It is best to refer to the instructions provided with your tank or device, as Pod Salt Go and Elf Bar 5000 devices differ slightly. However, based on the fitting your coil has, below is a simple guide on replacing the coil.
If the kit or tank has push-fit coils
- If necessary, detach the bottom portion of the tank after removing it from the battery or mod. Grab the coil’s bottom part and pull it away from the base. After that, you can remove this coil and install a new one.
If the kit or tank has screw-in coils,
- The top portion of the tank must usually be removed from devices with screw-in coils and the tank glass. Next, you must grab the ring and unscrew it from the base. You might want to use some tissue if you don’t want to get e-liquid on your fingertips. The tank glass and top piece can then be replaced, and a new coil can be screwed in.
How to Extend the Life of Your Coils
Prime Coils for you
Always fill your tank after installing a new coil in it, then let it sit for at least five minutes before using it to vape. If you don’t do this, it’s referred to as “priming,” and you’ll burn the wicking material and have to toss away your brand-new coil.
Clean the Coils.
Although it isn’t required, doing this will make your coils live longer. The e-liquid residue you previously had in your tank should be removed if you’re switching to a different flavor.
Using hot water to rinse your coils thoroughly is the quickest and simplest way to clean them. The coil must then be given enough time to be completely tested.
You don’t have to clean your coils, as was already mentioned, and many vapers don’t bother, but doing so will help you get more use out of them over time and save you money.
